Inspections
Looking Good. Driving Good.
The “check engine” light wasn’t federally mandated until 1996, yet somehow, we still have cars from before then on the road. That’s because a good car owner knows routine inspections go a long way towards the life of their vehicle.
Routine
At Classic Mechanics, we strongly recommend getting your car inspected every 6 months, but we look for things that might be a problem a year or two down the line, just to be safe.
Precision
We’re car guys; we enjoy getting under the hood. That means that we take the time to appreciate the most minute details of your vehicle and, in the process, give you a more comprehensive inspection.
Quality
To us, every car whose hood we open becomes a Classic Mechanics car. Our name and reputation are on the line with every job, so the results can be nothing short of our best.

Heard Aroundthe Shop
“I like the wide variety of interesting and rare cars, stuff that's kind of obscure and you don’t get to see every day, so it just feels like a privilege to be able to be so close and work on cars like this.” -Kevin Coonen
LEARN ABOUT USFrequently Asked Questions
What do people not tell you about owning a classic car?
Older cars are much different than newer cars. Each one has driven unique roads and some may have been restored, sometimes improperly, and that’s where we come in to correct “fixes” from before. Car people are very honest. They’ll tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly.
What is the cost of owning a classic car?
It depends on the state of the car, the model, and its complexity. Just like people, the more cars age, the more maintenance they are going to need. Of course, maintenance is cheaper than repairs, so regular inspections are strongly recommended.
Should I get a pre-purchase inspection?
We really believe you should always do a pre-purchase inspection when you can.
What should I know before buying a classic car?
You should know what you are looking for in a classic car. Not just what type of model you are looking for, but how much you are willing to invest into it. Some cars require a little more attention to detail while some are easier to maintain.
If I buy a classic car, can you help me restore it?
Most certainly. We perform an inspection of the car, make initial recommendations, and listen to clients' needs.
